Carbon Challenge HQ

As part of the Race against Global Warming, Carbon Challenge represents a global cause.

Carbon Challenge Holding AG is based in Switzerland, but Carbon Challenge is not a Swiss initiative. Nor is it a German, American, Chinese, Indian, Kenyan or Samoan initiative.

It’s a global initiative.

Our staff comes from around the world and will continue to be recruited without preference being given to any one country. We will always be a network of people spread around the world.

Our ideas, goals and services are relevant to issues which are serious in every country of the world.

As a consequence we have decided to partner with different countries for different cycles of the Carbon Challenge project. Like the Olympic Games or Soccer World Cup in sports, or the G8 Summit in politics, or the World Expo in culture.

Our choice of a host country will be guided be the needs of a country to receive public attention for climate change issues, or by the desire of a country to showcase their commitment to fight global warming and inspire others to do the same.

We have received interest from several countries and regions to host Carbon Challenge for our envisaged Volvo Ocean Race campaign.

We are evaluating those proposals and plan to announce the first host country to partner with Carbon Challenge in May 2008.
