Bill Bouldin is a Swiss SIA-registered architect and urban designer based in Geneva. He is co-owner and principal of Mechkat Bouldin Architects SA.

Bill brings valuable boathouse experience to the project, having worked closely with the German America’s Cup team in preparing the design and construction of their team base in Valencia.

Bill will be managing the ambitious Carbon Challenge Boathouse project on behalf of Carbon Challenge Holding AG. With leading experts and experienced professionals from Arup Engineering and David Chipperfield Architects in charge of the engineering and the design of the Boathouse, Bill's main task will be to orchestrate the interface between all involved parties and this way assure energy efficient project management.

“I have always been environmentally conscious, from growing up in the first ecology movement in the ‘70s. My work requires that I travel a lot, though, and taking the plane is a tough blow to the numbers. My goals for the near future: until more green-fuelled jets are available, I will try to rationalize my itineraries as much as possible, and prefer airlines that allow me to contribute to greenhouse gas offsetting funds when I have to fly. And at home, fine-tune our energy use and recycle even more. Lots of small economies add up.”
